My wife insisted that she didn’t want a diamond ring. So instead, I wrote this song, promising that I will give her “More Than a Diamond Ring”.
To us, diamond rings are merely a symbol. No matter what the size of the diamond is, it is the love between two people that counts.
Don’t get me wrong, as I have nothing against diamonds! While diamonds are beautiful (and most girls’ best friend), I hope this song will always remind us of the importance of the simple things in life, to tell each other that “it’s okay”, and “dance away our sorrows”, “till we’re old and slow”.
